The tween brigade were in full force on a muggy Sunday afternoon at Westfield Parramatta, where Zac Efron walked the red carpet for the Sydney premiere of Charlie St. Cloud.
The drama stars Efron as a young man in permanent morning after the death of his little brother, with whom he keeps in contact with thanks to his ability to speak to the dead.
When I asked whether the films’ mature approach to death and spirituality were a drawing point, Efron replied: “ Yeah, almost definitely. I could relate to this character in a lot of ways. I think the brother relationship was something to drew me to it, but also I love the spiritual elements in it”.
As for the concept of an afterlife, the self confessed agnostic stated: “I don't know...I haven’t really decided yet. I'm still trying to figure it out.”
Charlie St. Cloud will be released on the 23rd of September through Universal Pictures
