USA: NOVEMBER 12, 2010

One of many alien invasion movies to be released during 2010-2011, Skyline promises to be a VFX spectacle sure to appease many a sci-fi junkie.

The film focuses a group of survivors (Eric Balfour, Scottie Thompson, Donald Faison) trying to stay one step ahead an imposing extraterrestrial force literally swallowing the human race.

Skyline is directed by The Strause Brothers (Colin and Greg), VFX wizards who made their directorial debut on AVPR: Aliens vs. Predator-Requiem. Hopefully their sophomore effort will be an improvement.

GARETH EDWARDS

RELEASE DATE
AUS: NOVEMBER 25, 2010
UK: 12 NOVEMBER, 2010
USA: 29 OCTOBER, 2010

There is a lot of hype surrounding Monsters, a post alien invasion movie with a political undercurrent.

Written and directed by Gareth Edwards, the film focuses on a news journalist and an American tourist (Scoot McNairy & Whitney Able) making their way through the infected zone in Mexico to the US border.

Of course many an alien monster make an appearance in the proceedings.

Early reviews have been mixed, with the best hailing its innovation, and the worst damning its plodding romance.

The rest of us will see for ourselves later this year.

From Norway comes The Troll Hunter, a mockumentary style monster movie which features a film crew searching for trolls in the north of Norway and getting more than the expected.

A recent trailer promises much fun from writer / director Andre Ovredal, as Blair Witch Project-esque visuals mixed with a quirky monster movie aesthetic.

No much is available in the way of cast info or release dates. Hopefully that will change, because this looks like a winner.
