Tom Cruise will star in the sci-fi thriller We Mortals Are.

Based on the Japanese graphic novel “All You Need Is Kill” by Hiroshi Sakurazaka and Yoshitoshi Abe, We Mortals Are will star Cruise as a soldier defending Earth from attacking aliens. Killed in battle, he is then stuck in a time loop that causes him to relive that day over and over while gaining strength and skill each time as he tries to change his fate.

Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) will direct a script by Dante Harper and Joby Harold.

We Mortals Are joins a long list of projects for Cruise, who has wrapped the musical Rock of Ages, is currently shooting the thriller One Shot, and will star in the sci-fi drama Horizons.
