Aaron Eckhart has signed on to star in the sci-fi thriller I, Frankenstein.

Based on the graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux, I, Frankenstein will star Eckhart's as the Frankenstein creature, who has survived to present day only to finds himself caught in between a centuries old war between two immortal clans.

Stuart Beattie (Tomorrow, When the War Began) will direct his own screenplay.

Filming will begin in Sydney, Australia in January.

I, Frankenstein is currently slated for February 22, 2013 release.
