Liam Hemsworth is the latest addition to the star packed cast of The Expendables 2.

He is the latest addition to a packed cast that includes Nicolas Cage, Jean-Claude Van Damme, and Chuck Norris, who join original crew Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li and Mickey Rourke.

Although no information has been given as to what role Hemsworth will play, it is curious casting considering that the Australian actor is much younger than the rest of the crew.

Simon West (Con Air) will direct.

No official synopsis has been released.

The Expendables 2 is set to shoot in September, and is slated for an August 2012 release.
