It has been revealed that Amy Adams will star as Janis Joplin in a biopic based on the troubles singer’s life.

Producer Wyck Godfrey confirmed the news during an interview with Fearnet.

Fernando Meirelles (City of God) will direct the project, which has gone through several drafts.
Several other Joplin biopics have fallen on the way side other the years, with the likes of Pink and

Zooey Deschanel attached to the role.
