With director George Miller now shooting two Mad Max sequels back to back, news has broke that filming has been rescheduled for February 2011.
According to The Australian newspaper, filming has reportedly been postponed due to some “screenwriting and casting problems” and will leave “several hundred crew members" without work into the new year.
In other Mad Max news, Miller has revealed that he will shoot the film in 3D.
Said the director to Inside Film Magazine: “"We are doing 3D on Fury Road - we are shooting with real 3D cameras...Seven years ago we were going to shoot in 3D but the technology in cinemas wasn't geared for it then but I always loved 3D or stereo”.
The two films, tilted Fury Road and Furiosa, will star Tom Hardy in the role made famous by Mel Gibson, and Oscar winner Charlize Theron as the female lead.
No official plotline has been released as yet, nor has there been confirmation whether Gibson will make a cameo.
Mad Max: Fury Road is currently set for a 2012 release date. No word as to when Furiosa will be released.
