Paul Giamatti
BARNEY'S VERSION

Barney's Version image

Released in January of 2011, Barney’s Version showcased a career best turn by master actor supreme Paul Giamatti as loveable scumbag Barney Ponofsky.

Although Giamatti won a Golden Globe last year, he was unforgivably snubbed by the Oscar’s  leading many to forget this magnificent performance and it is a true shame, for Giamatti’s turn was one filled with many intricacies as we laughed, cried and found ourselves frustrated with Barney’s wayward ways which Giamatti played to pitch point perfection.

Characters like Barney Ponofsky can be misplayed if placed in the wrong hands. Yet this was a role Giamatti was born to play, and it is a performance that stands at the top of a long list of great turns by this most talented of actors.
